Shanghai Tourism festival kicks off

The 2019 Shanghai Tourism Festival opened with a grand performance on Sept 14 and will last until Oct 6.
The festival will feature 100 activities, including somae for overseas travelers. Tourists will get the chance to appreciate the different styles of the countries through folk culture exhibitions and national performances in popular scenic spots.
The opening ceremony brought together twenty-five floats which represent China's famous tourist destinations and 32 performance groups from 19 countries and regions to participate in the dance and music show in downtown Shanghai.
During the festival, visitors can also enjoy half-price access to Shanghai's major tourism attractions. Discounts at hotels and cultural events hosted by museums and galleries are also expected.
The Shanghai Tourism Festival, founded in 1990, has entered its 30th year. This increasingly international tourism festival attracted a total of 12.75 million tourists from around the world in 2018.
