Jewelry giant Tiffany & Co opened its largest Asian flagship store on Huaihai Road in downtown Shanghai on Dec 19.
Covering an area of nearly 1,000 square meters, the renovated two-story building will offer more products than any other Tiffany store in Asia as well as many limited-edition items.
It will also include the first Tiffany Blue Box Cafe in the Chinese mainland and the second in the world, which became popular due to the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany's starring Audrey Hepburn.
The café offers all-day menus to guests, who can enjoy exquisite dishes while watching the busy street below through the giant windows on the second floor.
The company's CEO Alessandro Bogliolo said Tiffany is excited about the Chinese market because the young people in China tend to be knowledgeable about jewelry and value it as a means of self-expression.
Tiffany invited a number of celebrities to attend the opening ceremony, garnering much public attention.
