Shanghai Textile Museum is a regional industrial museum that displays the historical development of the textile industry in Shanghai through physical objects, materials, scenes, graphics, models, multimedia, etc.
It has an outdoor exhibition area of 1,500 square meters and an indoor exhibition area of 4,480 sq m.
The museum features a remarkable prologue hall, a time-space exhibition hall, as well as areas for science popularization and Peking Opera and Kunqu costume displays, which collectively show the industrial history and culture of Shanghai's textile industry over more than 6,000 years.
It is located on the south bank of the Suzhou Creek, north of Macau Road, east of Changhua Road, and in the northwest wing of Changshou Road Bridge, the former location of Shanghai Shenxin Textile No 9 Factory.
