Shanghai holds conference to connect worldwide alumni

The second World Alumni Conference was held in Anting town, Jiading district, Shanghai on Sept 6, providing an exchange platform for global alumni to discuss technological developments.

Organized by the local government, the conference aimed to create a better environment for technological innovation and entrepreneurship through the joint efforts of university alumni.

The conference consisted of events including the 2019 Global University Alumni Economic Summit, World University Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and a launch ceremony for World Alumni Day.

Representatives from alumni associations of renowned universities, experts and scholars in cutting-edge technological and economic fields, and tech firms' representatives attended the conference.

Attendees discussed current hot topics such as the hydrogen energy industry, internet of things and artificial intelligence technology.

They also put forward their own suggestions for the development of the knowledge economy and innovation and entrepreneurship projects.

Participants shared the same vision of making the network of university alumni an important player in promoting global economy, which was expressed in the conference's theme – "interaction, collaboration, foresight and win-win idea".

The consensus on cooperation among university alumni led to the launch of World Alumni Day, which was designed to bolster ties between global alumni and encourage them to create a bright future for human beings.

Outstanding projects attracted the attentions of investors and industry insiders during the competition, which will help the new projects to develop.

At the main forum, professional from various fields delivered reports on their research results relating to robotics, smart city construction and new energy.

Forums and roundtables provided a chance for participants to enhance academic exchange and share views on the future development trends of high-tech industries.

Local government officers recognized the conference as an influential platform to attract talents and projects to develop in Shanghai and pledged to lend support to the innovative projects.
