Shanghai Normal University held a summer camp from July 1 to 12 for students studying at UCM member universities.
Launched in 2018, UCM is an international league of four universities -- Shanghai Normal University, Liverpool John Mores University, MARA University of Technology and Southern Connecticut State University.
The summer camp is part of an effort to increase exchange between the four universities and provide students with new insights into different cultures.
During the two-week camp, students learned about Chinese calligraphy, kung fu and history through a series of cultural lectures.
They also visited landmarks in Shanghai to get a taste of the city's traditions and modern technology.
The students had in-depth group discussions about the differences between cultures, including eating habits, tea culture and animal protection.
At the closing ceremony, student representatives spoke highly of the summer camp and were grateful for the opportunity to participate in cultural exchanges and make friends in Shanghai.
