A letter to all the international students at Shanghai Polytechnic University
Dear international students,
China is now at the critical period of the prevention and control of pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus. In order to curb the spread of the coronavirus and protect our students against the potential infection, Shanghai Polytechnic University hereby makes the following requirements and suggestions, according to the university's latest regulation:
Keep yourself reachable through WeChat, mobile phone or email.
Keep in touch with your academic supervisor, Office of International Student Affairs.
All students are required to finish the daily report before Beijing Time 10:00 a.m. everyday. Please scan the QR-Code, use the unified identity authentication to enter the declaration system, click on the daily report and fill in the recent situation.
International student dormitory has been moved to the 9th and 10th floors of the 11th Building in campus according to SSPU epidemic prevention and control needs. The dormitory arrangement has been announced in the international students WeChat group. Please follow and accept dormitory management consciously.
Spring Semester will not start before the end of this February. The specific start time will be further notified according to the requirements of the higher authorities.
The campus is closed. Please keep in mind that students who have left the university could not return to the campus without official approval.
Part of the courses will be delivered online after starting of spring semester. Please prepare for the online learning under the guidance of your teachers and program coordinator.
For students who live on campus, it is strongly suggested that students leave and enter the dormitories only when necessary. Please avoid participating in group activities. Wear a mask when entering or leaving the dormitory building, also during campus activities.
SSPU do not suggest you leave campus. If you need to leave the campus, you can leave the campus only after the approval of the Director of Office of International Student Affairs via WeChat. One report is only for once leave, and the approval result shall be transmitted to the guard in advance by the head of relevant department. You must show your campus card and scan it to leave. You must wear a mask when you leave campus. Going out and going back to the campus must be in strict accordance with relevant regulations.
Temperature test shall be carried out every day. Once the temperature is found to be higher than (including) 37.3 degrees, temporary isolation will be carried out, and the transfer work will be done with the health and disease control departments.
For students who live off campus, please learn and follow the requirements and regulations of the university and the local community. Avoid going out as well as gatherings, and enhance the consciousness of self-protection. Special attention: wear masks correctly, and wash hands frequently when you have to go out.
For students who are currently outside PRC, please comply with coronavirus-related prevention requirements and regulations of the host country and enhance the consciousness of self-protection.
