Shanghai health university to enroll public health students

Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences unveiled its college of public health at a ceremony on May 22. It is expected to begin enrolling students next year.
According to the university, the new college was established to help achieve Shanghai's goal of becoming one of the safest cities in terms of public health in the world.
Huang Gang, president of the university, said they hope to train students at the college to be capable personnel for public health institutions.
Undergraduate programs including public health emergency management and public health and preventive medicine will be offered.
The new college will work together with the municipal health commission and Centers for Disease Control to provide students training and employment opportunities.
Through the university's international cooperation projects, the college will cooperate with Sorbonne University in Paris, France to expand students' global vision.
