Tongji University discusses cooperation with Brazilian delegation
A delegation led by Governor Paulo Dantas of the state of Alagoas, Brazil, paid a visit to Tongji University in Shanghai on Sept 6.
During the meeting, Fang Shouen, Party secretary of Tongji University, and Lou Yongqi, vice president of the university, warmly welcomed the delegation and discussed potential areas of cooperation.
Fang introduced Tongji University and its collaboration with Brazilian universities, expressing a desire to enhance cooperation in engineer training.
He stated that Tongji University hopes to receive more Brazilian teachers and students for exchange programs and achieve significant results in talent training and scientific research through high-level personnel exchanges between China and Brazil.
Dantas, on his first visit to China and Tongji University, expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He acknowledged China's strong infrastructure, advanced medicine and health, and scientific and educational innovation.
Dantas also expressed his desire to carry out international education cooperation and promote exchanges between Brazil and China in various fields, such as science and education, finance, and tourism.
The delegation also discussed possibilities for cooperation in specialized platform colleges, student exchange programs, and double degree programs and explored prospects for collaboration in football and the establishment of Confucius Institutes.
