Sanda University
Sanda University is a full-time private university devoted to a multi-disciplinary, international, and high-quality education for applied technology and the training high-quality talents for economic and social development.
It was founded by professors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University in 1992.
In March 2002, it was approved as a full-time undergraduate college by the Ministry of Education, becoming the first private undergraduate college in Shanghai.
The university covers an area of about 54 hectares in total and consists of two campuses located in Pudong New Area, Shanghai and Jiashan county, Zhejiang province.
It has over 15,000 full-time students, including 14,000 undergraduates, and over 800 full-time teachers, 92 percent of whom hold master's degrees or higher.
The university has eight core disciplines: economics, law, literature, engineering, management, art, medicine, and education, with 42 undergraduate majors and six junior college majors.
More than 60,000 people have graduated from the university, and over the past five years, the average employment rate among all graduates was 97 percent, which is higher than similar universities in Shanghai.
The university has undertaken a number of major projects in an effort to develop a national off-campus practical education center for college students and an experimental center for innovation and entrepreneurship education.
The university has recruited foreign teachers and teachers with international backgrounds to strengthen its teaching team and has established cooperative relations with more than 100 institutions in 23 countries and regions to develop talent training programs.
