The consultancy firm ShanghaiRanking released its 2022 Best Chinese Universities Ranking by Major on June 18, listing 56 majors at Shanghai universities at first place.

In addition, 222 majors at Shanghai's universities received an A+ rating, placing the city second in the nation for the overall number of A+ majors, just behind Beijing.

With 44 majors rated A+, Fudan University grabbed the top spot among Shanghai universities and ranked fifth in the nation. Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which offers 38 A+ majors, comes in second in the city.

The list revealed that more than 20 A+ majors are offered at Tongji University, East China Normal University, and Shanghai Foreign Studies University.

With 98 majors listed, Shanghai University has the most majors on the list of all the universities. Shanghai Normal University, which has 91 majors on the list, comes in second. There are more than 80 majors on the list from Tongji University as well as East China Normal University.
