International students from Shanghai University (SHU) attended a campus activity on Jan 4, seeking the roots of Chinese culture.
An opening of the school's annual cultural celebrations, the activity was rolled out with an outdoor party integrating games and delicacies with various Chinese cultural features and an indoor gala putting forward a diversified show of cross talk, dances, martial arts, recitals, and traditional instruments performances.
International students also took part in the event, with some from Mongolia reciting classic Chinese poems and lyrics, some from Thailand performing folk dances, and others from Turkmenistan and Malaysia putting on a fashion show in hanfu, the traditional Chinese clothing.
The school's Residential College, the event's organizer, and College of International Education, an active participant, reached a cooperative agreement at the event. They looked forward to lifting the students' global vision, helping them blend into local culture, and strengthening their connections with Chinese students.
